University Of Toronto

The University of Toronto is Canada's leading teaching and research university, and its unique place in the national landscape can be attributed, in part, to its rich and remarkable history. The University of Toronto was founded as King's College in 1827 and has evolved into a large and complex institution. It now occupies three campuses: Scarborough and Erindale and the historic St. George campus.

U of T has been the birthplace of major research achievements such as the discovery of insulin, the creation of the first electronic heart pacemaker, the single lung transplant and the discovery of the gene responsible for the most severe form of Alzheimer's disease. Recent advances include the discovery of the gene responsible for cystic fibrosis, cloning of the T-cell gene, and the world's first nerve transplant.

University of Toronto has over 9,000 faculty and staff, and more than 60,000 graduate and undergraduate students. University of Toronto locations include: St. George campus: 50,871 students U of T at Scarborough: 9,603 students, U of T at Mississauga: 9,669 students, Institute for Aerospace Studies in north-west Toronto, Dunlap Observatory in Richmond Hill and Koffler Scientific Reserve at Jokers Hill in King Township.

4icu.org University Web Ranking Methodology

4icu.org is an international higher education search engine and directory reviewing accredited Universities and Colleges around the world. 4icu.org includes 11,307 Colleges and Universities, ranked by web popularity, in 200 countries. 4icu.org is free of charge to both visitors and organisations included. No registration is also required.

The 4icu.org directory includes worldwide higher education organisations which satisfy the following requirements:
- are officially recognized, licensed or accredited by national or regional bodies such as ministries of education and/or recognized higher education accrediting organizations.
- are officialy entitled to grant four-year undergraduate degrees and/or postgraduate degrees.
- provide traditional face-to-face learning facilities, programs and courses.
- All University and College profiles are included and updated free of charge.

We adopt the United Nations geographical classification as shown in the webpage "Composition of macro geographical (continental) regions" published by the United Nations Statistics Division.

The current ranking is based upon an algorithm including five unbiased and independent web metrics extracted from three different search engines: Google Page Rank, Alexa Traffic Rank, Majestic Seo Referring Domains, Majestic Seo Citation Flow and Majestic Seo Trust Flow.
